A touch type distinguishing method may be provided for a touch input device including a touch screen. The method may determine a touch on the touch screen. For example, a touch on the touch screen may be determined as an authentication touch when a condition that the time period for which the input touch maintains is equal to or greater than the predetermined reference time period is satisfied prior to the long touch determination criterion time point. The touch on the touch screen may be determined as a long touch when the condition is not satisfied.

An exemplary embodiment of the present invention provides a stylus pen including: a body; a conductive tip configured to be exposed from an inside of the body to an outside thereof; and a resonance circuit connected to the conductive tip to resonate an electrical signal transferred from the conductive tip. An inductor unit of the resonance circuit includes a ferrite core and a coil wound in multiple layers over at least a portion of the ferrite core. The ferrite core includes nickel, and the coil can be formed by a litz wire with adjacent winding layers that are wound to be inclined in a zigzag form.

Disclosed is a touch input device including: a touch sensor including a plurality of electrodes; a drive unit configured to apply a driving signal to at least some of the plurality of electrodes of the touch sensor; a touch signal detection unit configured to detect a touch-position-related signal related to a touch position of an object inputted to the touch surface from at least some of the plurality of electrodes of the touch sensor; and an LGM disturbance signal detection unit configured to detect an LGM-disturbance-signal-related signal related to an LGM disturbance signal generated from the touch surface from at least some of the plurality of electrodes of the touch sensor.

A pressure detection module may be provided that includes: a first electrode and a second electrode which are located on an insulation layer; and an elastic foam. The elastic foam is located between the first and the second electrodes and a reference potential layer located apart from the pressure detection module. A capacitance between the first electrode and the second electrode is changed according to a relative distance change between the reference potential layer and the first and the second electrodes through a transformation of the elastic foam. A magnitude of a pressure which causes the elastic foam to be transformed is detected according to the capacitance change.

In one embodiment, a touch sensor includes a first electrode, a second electrode, and a spacer layer located between the first electrode and the second electrode. One of the first electrode and the second electrode is a drive electrode to which a drive signal is applied. The other one of the first electrode and the second electrode is a receiving electrode that receives the drive signal by a mutual capacitance between the first electrode and the second electrode. When an external pressure is applied to the first electrode through a display, the first electrode is concavely bent toward the second electrode. The mutual capacitance between the first electrode and the second electrode changes according to a distance between the first electrode and the second electrode. The magnitude of the external pressure according to the change of the capacitance between the first electrode and the second electrode is detected.

A touch sensor panel may be provided that includes a plurality of drive electrodes formed in a first layer; and a plurality of receiving electrodes which are arranged to cross the plurality of drive electrodes and are formed in a second layer. In the plurality of drive electrodes, a column of drive electrodes is formed by connecting a plurality of lozenge-shaped unit electrodes in a column direction, and the drive electrodes of each column are disposed at a regular interval in a row direction. The plurality of receiving electrodes are composed of a line having a predetermined width and are arranged in the row direction in such a way as to pass through a center of the unit electrode. Through this, the touch sensor panel capable of linearly detecting the change of the capacitance is provided, so that touch position can be accurately detected.

A touch sensor panel may be provided that includes: a plurality of drive electrodes which extend in a first layer in a first axial direction and sense touch; a plurality of dummy drive electrodes which extend in the first layer in the first axial direction and do not sense the touch; a plurality of receiving electrodes which extend in a second layer in a second axial direction crossing the first axial direction and sense the touch; and a plurality of dummy receiving electrodes which extend in the second layer in the second axial direction and do not sense the touch. A part of a capacitance path between the drive electrode and the receiving electrode is blocked.

A display device having a sensor coupled thereto according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises: a cover layer; a display panel disposed below the cover layer; an optical layer disposed below the display panel; and an image sensor disposed below the optical layer. The optical layer includes: a microlens array layer including a plurality of microlenses; and an aperture layer which is disposed below the microlens array layer and includes holes each spaced apart from the microlenses by a focal length of the microlens. According to one embodiment of the present invention, a distance from a fingerprint to a fingerprint sensor can be greatly decreased in comparison with a conventional technology. In addition, deterioration of fingerprint image quality due to scattered light can be reduced.

A smartphone may include a first cover layer and an LCD panel. A backlight unit may be located under the LCD panel. A touch sensor may sense touch in a capacitive manner. The backlight unit may include a pressure sensor and a spacer layer. The pressure sensor includes a plurality of electrodes formed in a single layer attached on the second cover layer and spaced apart from the reflective sheet. A driving signal is applied to the touch sensor and a touch position is detected by a sensing signal. A magnitude of a touch pressure is detected based on a change amount of capacitance which is output from the pressure sensor and which is changed according to a distance between the pressure sensor and an electrode located within the LCD panel. The pressure sensor is attached on the second cover layer as an integral sheet including insulation layers.

An exemplary embodiment of the present invention provides a stylus pen including: a body portion; a conductive tip configured to be exposed from an inside of the body portion to an outside thereof; a resonance circuit portion positioned in the body portion to be connected to the conductive tip to resonate an electrical signal transferred from the conductive tip; and a conductive blocking member configured to surround at least a portion of the resonance circuit portion.
