A non-invasive analyte sensor includes at least one transmit antenna and at least one receive antenna. A transmit circuit is electrically connectable to the at least one transmit antenna, where the transmit circuit is configured to generate a transmit signal in a radio or microwave frequency range of the electromagnetic spectrum. A receive circuit is electrically connectable to the at least one receive antenna. A trigger mechanism is associated with the non-invasive analyte sensor that triggers an analyte reading by the non-invasive analyte sensor.

An antenna includes a controllable conductive material that is used to form transmit and/or receive antennas in different, controllable shapes. The controllable conductive material can be manipulated by an actuation control to form a continuous shape from one electrode to another to form the antenna. The controllable conductive material can be formed into multiple antennae each having a continuous shape extending between different electrodes. The antenna can be used for transmitting and receiving electromagnetic signals for determining the presence and/or amount of one or more analytes.

A sensor system that can be used to analyze parts/components associated with agricultural equipment using one or more radio frequency (RF) or microwave frequency signals. For example, the sensor system can be used to analyze a part/component to detect metal fatigue, micro-cracks, thermal stress, defects, deformations, and other possible indicators of overstress and/or failure. The parts/components that can be analyzed are any parts/components associated with or used on agricultural equipment.

A sensor system that can be used to analyze structures associated with ships using one or more radio frequency (RF) or microwave frequency signals. For example, the sensor system can be used to analyze a ship structure to detect metal fatigue, micro-cracks, thermal stress, defects, deformations, and other possible indicators of overstress and/or failure. The ship structures that can be analyzed are any structures associated with or used on a ship.

A sensor system that can be used to analyze structures associated with aerial vehicles using one or more radio frequency (RF) or microwave frequency signals. For example, the sensor system can be used to analyze an aerial vehicle structure to detect metal fatigue, micro-cracks, thermal stress, defects, deformations, and other possible indicators of overstress and/or failure. The aerial vehicle structures that can be analyzed are any structures associated with or used on an aerial vehicle, whether propelled by one or more turbine engines, by one or more propellers, one or more rocket engines, or other forms of propulsion.

A sensor system that can be used to analyze physical components/structures associated with infrastructure using one or more radio frequency (RF) or microwave frequency signals. For example, the sensor system can be used to analyze an infrastructure component or structure to detect metal fatigue, corrosion in steel, deterioration in concrete, micro-cracks, stress/strain in steel and/or composite materials, defects, deformations, and other possible indicators of health status of the infrastructure component or structure.

A solid constituent sensor or sensor system that uses one or more radio frequency (RF) or microwave frequency signals transmitted to and/or into a solid sample to aid in making a determination about the solid sample. This is generally referred to as characterizing a solid sample. Characterizing the solid sample can include: detecting one or more constituents in the sample; detecting the lack of one or more constituents in the sample; determining the molecular makeup of homogenous or heterogeneous solid sample; determining whether the solid sample has an expected chemical composition; determining whether the solid sample deviates from an expected chemical composition; identifying the solid sample; and others.

A gas sensor that uses one or more radio or microwave frequency signals transmitted into a gaseous sample to aid in making a determination about the gaseous sample. This is generally referred to as characterizing a gaseous sample. Characterizing the gaseous sample can include, but is not limited to: detecting one or more gases in the sample; detecting the lack of one or more gases in the sample; determining the molecular makeup of homogenous or heterogeneous gases; determining the total makeup of a gaseous sample with or without suspended vapors or aerosols; determining the amount of suspended vapors or aerosols in a gaseous sample; determining whether the gaseous sample has an expected makeup; determining whether the gaseous sample deviates from an expected makeup; and others.
