Provided is a self-retracting device including a rotatable hub assembly. The rotatable hub assembly includes a first half and a second half. The first half includes a slot for an axle. The second half includes a retraction member and a slot for the axle. The self-retracting device also includes an axle with a body extending through the slot of the first half and the slot of the second half and a line. A first end of the line includes a loop, wherein the loop is between the first half and the second half and the axle body extends through an opening defined by the loop. The rotatable hub assembly is configured to retract the line when the rotatable hub assembly moves in the first rotational direction and pay out the line when the rotatable hub assembly moves in a second rotational direction opposite the first rotational direction.

Provided are computer-implemented systems and methods for a device that includes at least one processor programmed or configured to receive one or more messages from a device in an transmit state, the one or more messages comprising a first message received at a first power level, the first message comprising data associated with a power level at which the first message was transmitted by the transmitting device, and a second messages received at a second power level, the second message comprising data associated with a power level at which the second message was transmitted by the transmitting device. The processor is further configured to determine a heading toward the transmitting device based on the first message and the second message; and output data associated with an indication of the heading toward the transmitting device.

A method of detecting at least a blockage status in a porous member separating a measurement chamber of a device including a gas sensor positioned within the measurement chamber which is responsive to an analyte in an ambient environment to be sampled, includes emitting pressure waves from a pressure wave source which travel within the measurement chamber, measuring a first response via a first sensor responsive to pressure waves positioned at a first position within the measurement chamber, measuring a second response via a second sensor at a second position, different from the first position, and in fluid connection with the pressure wave source, determining the blockage status of the porous member based upon a functional relation of the first response and the second response.

Provided are computer-implemented methods that include receiving one or more messages from a device in a transmit state, including: a first message received at a first power level, the first message including data associated with a power level at which the first message was transmitted by the device in the transmit state, and a second message received at a second power level, the second message including data associated with a power level at which the second message was transmitted by the device in the transmit state; and determining a heading toward the device in the transmit state based on the first message and the second message. In some non-limiting embodiments or aspects, the method may include outputting data associated with an indication of the heading toward the device in the transmit state. Systems and computer program products are also provided.

A self-retracting device includes a housing assembly having a first housing cover removably connectable to a second housing cover. The self-retracting device further includes a rotatable hub received within an interior of the housing assembly and having a line associated therewith, and retraction member received within an interior of the housing assembly between the rotatable hub and the first housing cover. The self-retracting device further includes an axle having a first end fixedly but removably connected to the first housing cover, a body extending through the retraction member and the rotatable hub, and a second end in engagement with at least a portion of the rotatable hub.

A breathing apparatus includes a tank containing pressurized breathing gas, a regulator having an inlet connected to the tank, an outlet for providing breathing gas to a user, and a valve configured for controlling a flow of breathing gas between the inlet and the outlet. A facepiece includes a first port for connecting with the outlet of the regulator, a second port adapted to be connected to an air purifying system, and an exhalation valve. A pneumatic pressure adjustment assembly is in operative connection with the exhalation valve, and has a first pneumatic connection in operative connection with a second pneumatic connection in the regulator. The pneumatic pressure adjustment assembly is operable to adjust the internal facepiece pressure for opening the exhalation valve based on whether breathing gas is delivered to the pneumatic pressure adjustment assembly. An alignment mechanism is provided for aligning the regulator with the facepiece.

A sensor system for detecting mass deposition from a gaseous environment includes a first sensor element including a first electrically conductive heating component and a first interface structure on the first electrically conductive heating component. The sensor system further includes electronic circuitry in connection with the first electrically conductive heating component. The electronic circuitry is configured to provide energy to the first electrically conductive heating component to heat the first sensor element and to measure a thermodynamic response of the first sensor element, which varies with mass deposition of one or more compositions on the first interface structure.

A protective helmet has an outer shell, a protection shield movable relative to the outer shell between a deployed position and a stowed position, and a linkage mechanism for connecting the protection shield to the outer shell and permitting movement of the protection shield between the deployed and stowed positions. The linkage mechanism has a first link with a first end connected to the outer shell and a second end connected to the protection shield, a second link having a first end connected to the outer shell and a second end connected to the protection shield, and a biasing member having a first end connected to the first link and a second end connected to the second link. The second end of the biasing member moves between the first and second ends of the second link during movement of the protection shield between the deployed and stowed positions.

A respirator mask includes a face piece configured for contacting at least a portion of a face of a user, a head harness for attaching the respirator mask to a head of the user, at least one opening on the face piece, and at least one filter associated with the opening on the face piece. The at least one filter is configured to facilitate a passage of ambient air to an interior of the face piece in a first direction. The at least one filter is further configured to facilitate a passage of air exhaled by the user wearing the respirator mask in a second direction opposite the first direction from the interior of the face piece to the ambient air and reduce a passage of aerosolized particulate matter exhaled by the user in the second direction.

A connection arrangement for use with a wearable body harness has a first connector having a body with a first portion of a locking mechanism and a second connector having a body with a second portion of the locking mechanism. The first portion of the locking mechanism has a tab connected to the body of the first connector and a slot having a first portion extending through the body of the first connector and a second portion extending through the tab. The second portion of the locking mechanism has a tongue configured for being received through the first portion of the slot, and an intermediate connecting element having a first end connected to the body of the second connector and a second end connected to the tongue. The second end of the intermediate connecting element is offset from the body of the second connector.
