Method of manufacturing a power cable including three cores and three filler profiles arranged in a stranded configuration, the method including: A) in a design stage of the power cable: A 0 ) defining a nominal outer diameter of the cores, and defining a stranding pitch P of the cores, A 1 ) determining, in a transverse plane of the power cable, a shape of at least one of the cores, A 2 ) determining a cross-sectional shape of the filler profiles in a transverse section of a filler profile based on the shape determined in step A 1 ), B) in the production stage of the power cable: B 1 ) manufacturing each of the cores with the nominal outer diameter, B 2 ) obtaining the filler profiles with the cross-sectional shape obtained in step A 2 ), and B 3 ) stranding the cores and the filler profiles with the stranding pitch P in an assembly machine.

The invention is concerned with a method, arrangement, computer program and computer program product for estimating the thermal resistivity of soil surrounding an underground cable. The arrangement comprises a thermal resistivity estimating unit that obtains a first temperature (T s ) from a first temperature sensor at an exterior surface of the cable, obtains a second temperature (T a ) from a second temperature sensor placed in the soil at a distance from the cable, obtains a measurement of current (I c ) transmitted in the cable and estimates the thermal resistivity of soil based on the first and the second temperatures (T s , T a ) as well as on the current measurement (I c ).

A pressurisation and heating device for restoring an insulation system of a power cable, the pressurisation and heating device including: a first part including a first channel configured to receive a portion of the power cable, a second part including a second channel configured to receive a portion of the power cable, wherein the pressurisation and heating device is configured to be set in a closed state in which the first channel faces the second channel thereby forming a heating chamber extending from a first end to a second end, opposite the first end, of the pressurisation and heating device, wherein the pressurisation and heating device is configured to be pressurised to obtain a pressure higher than atmospheric pressure inside the heating chamber when the power cable is arranged sealed in the heating chamber, wherein the pressurisation and heating device has an at least 20 cm long axially extending section which is primarily made of material at most having a conductivity of the order of 1000 S/m at 20° C.

A power cable accessory assembly including: a power cable including: a conductor, and an electrical insulation layer arranged around the conductor; a fastening device attached to an end face of the electrical insulation layer, and a connector mechanically connected to the conductor, wherein the connector has an inner surface provided with a structure that engages with the fastening device to maintain an axially fixed position between the connector and the electrical insulation layer.

A rigid submarine power cable joint including: an outer casing having a first axial end face and a second axial end face at an opposite axial end of the outer casing relative to the first axial end face, wherein the first axial end face includes a single opening configured to receive a multi-core dynamic submarine power cable, and wherein the second axial end face includes two openings, each configured to receive a respective single core submarine power cable.

A method of manufacturing a wet or semi-wet design high voltage or extra high voltage submarine power cable, the method including: a) supplying polymer materials to an extruder from a material handling room, the material handling room fulfilling clean room class 8 or cleaner according to ISO-14644-1: 2015, and b) extruding an insulation system, including an insulation layer, around a conductor in the extruder using the polymer material, the extruder fulfilling the requirements of clean room class 8 or cleaner according to ISO-14644-1: 2015.

A power cable comprising: a power core including: a conductor, an insulation system including an inner semiconducting layer arranged around the conductor, an insulation layer arranged around the inner semiconducting layer, and an outer semiconducting layer arranged around the insulation layer, a first metallic water blocking layer arranged concentrically with and around the outer semiconducting layer, a semiconducting polymer layer arranged concentrically with and around the first metallic water blocking layer, and a second metallic water blocking layer arranged concentrically with and around the semiconducting polymer layer; and an outer sheath arranged around the second metallic water blocking layer.

A submarine DC power cable including: three stranded cores, wherein a first core and a second core of the three cores are DC power cores, each including a conductor, and an insulation system arranged around the conductor, and wherein a third core of the three cores is a dummy element having the same outer diameter as the first and the second cores, or the outer diameter of the third core deviates at most ±10% from the outer diameter of any of the first and the second cores, and wherein the third core in cross-section has a structure that is circular symmetric and which differs from a cross-sectional structure of the first and the second cores.

A submarine power cable system having: a wet design power cable section including a first conductor section, a first insulation system section arranged around the first conductor section, and a screen layer formed by one or more of helically laid elongated metal elements arranged around the first insulation system section, and a static power cable section, which is a moisture buffer zone, including a second conductor section connected to the first conductor section and a second insulation system section connected to the first insulation system section by means of a flexible joint, the static power cable section further including a metallic radial water-blocking sheath arranged around the second insulation system section, wherein the metallic radial water-blocking sheath is electrically connected to the screen layer, and wherein, from the flexible joint to a far end of the static power cable section the submarine power cable system has an axial length in a range of 1-1000 m, the far end being arranged to be connected to or being connected to a subsea electric component.
