An instrument for preparing a bone to receive a prosthesis comprises a shaft extending along a central axis from a distal end to a proximal end, a distal reaming element comprising a boss reamer located at the distal end, and a broaching element located proximally of the distal reaming element and configured to rotate about the shaft, wherein the broaching element comprises a plurality of spokes extending radially outward of the distal reaming element. A method of modifying a humeral head to receive a stemless humeral implant using an instrument having an integrated broach and reamer comprises resecting a bone to form a resected surface, inserting the instrument into the resected surface, rotating a shaft of the instrument to rotate a distal reamer and form a center boss, and advancing a broach of the instrument into the resected surface to form a plurality of slots extending from the center boss.

According to one example, a bearing component for a knee arthroplasty is disclosed. The bearing component can optionally comprise any one or combination of: a medial compartment having an medial articular surface with a medial articular track and having a first thickness as measured at the medial articular track between the medial articular surface a medial distal surface; and a lateral compartment having a lateral articular surface with a lateral articular track and having a second thickness as measured at the lateral articular track between the lateral articular surface a lateral distal surface; wherein the medial articular surface at the medial articular track and the lateral articular surface at the lateral articular track each have an inclination so as to form an acute angle with respect to a resected proximal surface of a tibia.

Navigational and/or robotic tracking systems include one or more wireless tracking device attached to an object or to a bone of a patient. The wireless tracking device may include a camera, a pair of cameras, and/or a probe, and a wireless transmitter. Surgical methods may include wirelessly obtaining reference data, the reference data based on the camera of the wireless tracking device operably attached to the bone of the patient, the reference data is associated with a plurality of markers and using the reference data in a surgical navigation system. Surgical methods may also include wirelessly obtaining positional and orientation data, and/or surface or structural data, and using the positional and orientation data, and/or surface or structural data in the surgical navigation system.

A cart stabilization system and rolling cart elements for robotic surgery and other medical instrumentation are disclosed. The cart stabilization system includes a base and lifting caster systems coupled to a bottom portion of the base. Each lifting caster system includes a rolling element, a swivel foot assembly moveably coupled to the rolling element; and a hydraulic mounting base coupled to a portion of the swivel foot assembly. Methods of assembling a lifting caster system and for using a cart stabilization system are also disclosed.

A device may include a cutting instrument configured to cut a bone of a patient with one or more cutting features. A device may include a guide configured to mount to the bone, the guide defining an aperture having a guide hole portion and a pilot hole portion, wherein the pilot hole portion is configured to initially receive a portion of the bone cutting instrument, and wherein an axis of the pilot hole portion is oriented at an acute angle relative to an axis of the guide hole portion.

Methods and devices for delivering bone material are disclosed. The bone delivery device may include a cannula and a cartridge in fluid communication with the cannula, wherein the cartridge comprises a base containing one or more delivery channels configured to receive bone material. The bone material within the delivery channel(s) is compacted to a second diameter smaller than the first diameter. The method includes actuating the compacted bone material from the cartridge through the cannula to deliver the bone material to an implantation site.

Disclosed herein are linear electric surgical hammer impact tools and methods of use thereof. The linear electric surgical hammer impact tools can include a housing, a slider, a shuttle, and a motor. The housing can define a cavity extending along a longitudinal axis of the housing. The slider can be located inside the cavity and arranged along the longitudinal axis of the housing. The shuttle can be located inside the cavity and arranged along the longitudinal axis of the housing. The shuttle can include a first set of collars and a second set of collars. The motor can be configured to drive the slider along the longitudinal axis in a first direction and a second direction. Motion of the slider in the first and second directions can cause the slider to contact the first and second sets of collars.

A chuck for a powered surgical impactor can include a first body insertable into the powered surgical impactor and defining a first bit bore, a second body adapted to receive the first body; and a third body receivable at least partially within the second body and defining a second bit bore. The third body can define a lock projection extending radially inward into the second bit bore; and the third body and the second body can be adapted to rotate relative to the first body to move the lock projection between an unlocked position, in which the lock projection is located to allow insertion of a surgical instrument into the chuck, and an unlocked position, in which the lock projection is located to prevent removal of the surgical instrument from the chuck.

A pin placement instrument for placing a pin in a bone comprises an anatomical interface with a hook-like portion being opened in a lateral direction of the instrument to receive a bone therein in a planned position. A drill guide is connected to the anatomical interface and defining at least one guide slot in a longitudinal direction of the instrument. The guide slot has a lateral opening over its full length in the drill guide to allow lateral withdrawal of the instrument in said lateral direction with the pin placed in the bone passing through the lateral opening. A bushing is removably placed in said guide slot via said longitudinal direction in a planned fit, the bushing defining a throughbore aligned with the guide slot and adapted to receive the pin extending in said longitudinal direction when the bushing is in the guide slot for pin placement.
