An article of footwear includes an upper, a sole structure attached to the upper and having a forefoot region, a midfoot region, and a heel region, a plurality of plates including a first plate extending from the forefoot region to the heel region, a second plate, and a third plate coupled to the second plate adjacent a toe end. The article of footwear also includes a forefoot cushion disposed between the first plate and the second plate, a heel cushion spaced from the forefoot cushion, a first outsole portion coupled to the plurality of plates in the forefoot region, and a second outsole portion coupled to the heel cushion.

A method of manufacturing a foam component includes positioning a preformed component within a cavity of an autoclave. The preformed component is shaped based on a non-uniform scale factor applied based on a desired final shape of the foam component. The method further includes pressurizing the autoclave from a first pressure to a second pressure that is higher than the first pressure. The method also includes injecting a blowing agent into the cavity of the autoclave. The blowing agent becomes a supercritical fluid that saturates the preformed component. The method further includes dropping the pressure within the cavity of the autoclave from the second pressure to a third pressure that is less than the second pressure to cause nucleation of the supercritical fluid within the preformed component, and to expand and crystallize the material of the preformed component to form the final shape of the foam component.

An article of footwear includes an upper having a base layer that includes a first layer and a second layer. The second layer is a series of cushioning elements that extend outward from the first layer. The upper also includes a top layer that is partially connected to a perimeter of the base layer such that a void is disposed between the base layer and the top layer, and at least one of the cushioning elements of the series of cushioning elements is located within the void defined between the base layer and the top layer.

An article of footwear that includes a sole structure and an upper and defines a widest section, a narrowest section, a toe end, a heel end, a lateral side, and a medial side. The sole structure includes a first midsole directly coupled to the upper that includes a lateral side depression and a medial side depression. The sole structure further includes a sole plate directly coupled to the first midsole, a second midsole directly coupled to the first midsole and the sole plate, and a third midsole directly coupled to the first midsole and the sole plate. A periphery of the third midsole defines a medial lip and a lateral lip. A closure system for an article of footwear includes a reel and a cord that is configured to be operably engaged with an upper of the footwear. A first segment of the cord is attached to the reel, and the reel is configured to be actuated by pulling the first segment of the cord to tighten the footwear.

A system to produce a textile component of an article includes a processor and memory configured to determine a strain value in a region of a textile component of a reference article of footwear based on images of the reference article of footwear of a camera in selective communication with the processor and memory, and to generate a strain map based on the strain value. The system includes an additive manufacturing device in selective communication with the processor and memory and configured to apply a reinforcement to a substrate that has a shape of an upper for a custom article of footwear to variably reinforce the textile component based on the strain map and to form the textile component of the custom article of footwear.

An article of footwear having a sole structure and an upper and defining a widest section, a narrowest section, a toe end, a heel end, a lateral side, and a medial side. The sole structure includes a top midsole directly coupled to the upper, a sole plate directly coupled to the top midsole, a front midsole directly coupled to the top midsole and the sole plate, a rear midsole directly coupled to the top midsole and the sole plate, and an outsole directly coupled to the front midsole and the rear midsole. The top midsole includes an upper side and an underside, and the upper side of the top midsole includes a lip around an outer edge of the upper side. Further, the underside of the top midsole includes a plurality of recesses, and the top midsole includes an aperture that extends from the upper side to the underside.

An article of footwear having an upper and a sole structure that defines a lateral side and a medial side, a forefoot region, a midfoot region and a heel region. The sole structure includes an outsole that defines a notch that extends toward a toe end of the sole structure. The sole structure further includes a first midsole member that defines an opening within the midfoot region that extends into the notch such that the outsole is disposed on the medial side and lateral side of the toe end of the opening. A second a midsole is positioned between the first midsole member and the upper, and a sole plate is disposed within the midfoot region. The second midsole member is visible though the opening from the bottom of the article of footwear and the second midsole member extends into an aperture in the sole plate.

An article of footwear includes an upper attached to a sole structure. The sole structure includes a midsole having a foam material. The midsole defines a posterior segment opposite an anterior segment relative to an arch segment in a longitudinal direction. The sole structure includes a first fiber strand within the midsole and extending through at least two of the posterior segment, the anterior segment, and the arch segment. A density of the first fiber strand is between about 1.2 grams per cubic centimeter (g/cm 3 ) and about 2.0 g/cm 3 .

The present disclosure relates to a garment, especially to a sports garment, which includes a region which is in contact with a wearer during intended use. The region includes at least one material layer. To allow an improved ventilation at those locations where the same is really needed the present disclosure proposes that the region has at least one receiving space in which microorganisms are placed, and the microorganisms are selected to corrode at least a portion of the material layer under certain conditions.
